The Metacafé (103 W. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI)
* Wonderful to see
coffeegrrl23, and to hear her, Diana, and Steve-O read again. It’s been about a year.
* Things started off squirrelly, but Steve-O rules his crowd with an iron fist ... or at least a stainless-steel chair ... and clearly there was a lot of energy in the room, which rawked. He also finally got rid of the reverb in the PA -- huzzah!
* GREAT CROWD! And a packed (smoky) house. The open mic and slam were solid. A younger but attentive and supportive audience. They were friendly, approachable, and inquisitive, too. The Meta is a great room. There was talk of moving to a bigger space, which would make it even better.
* The back-and-forth presentation was the way to go, rather than each of us doing longer sets. It just kept things moving. Once again forgot to time our set, so I hope we did at least 25 minutes (that was the plan). It felt shorter than that, but then time is a construct, not reality.

* The drive home was an uneventful 4 hours: Bright half moon through thin clouds. Semis pulling three trailers should be banned. I saw a shooting star. Joe saw two stars collide (which I saw as a plane flying in front of a star, but I’m an optimist).
* Thanks again, Thea and Metacafe-ites!
