Instrumental music is lyricless.

I just finished my last piano recital (which wasn't exactly a recital, it was me and my teacher playing and then a tiny party). I had my last lesson on Friday.

Is it sad that I'm way more torn and melancholy about leaving this than I am about high school? Or just obvious?

No, it's reasonable.

Leaving something you like is much different than leaving something you're required to do.

This is true. I also like my piano teacher a lot more than I like most of the teachers at my school. It just feels like I should have qualms about leaving my friends, at least, but I'm getting pretty close, and I just...don't. I mean, I'll miss them, but my joy at leaving high school is pretty unequivocal.
