There used to be some fun things to do with Google.

Things that still work:
Type: do a barrel roll
Type: askew
Type: recursion

Things that no longer work:
Type: ascii art
Type: let it snow

Things that died when the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button was killed back in 2010.

Type: Chuck Norris and click I’m Feeling Lucky

"Ascii art" changed the Google logo into an ascii reproduction.

"Let it snow" made it start snowing on the Google page. :~)

I'm not familiar with ascii art. I wonder why they disabled those functions. Those are fun.

Never mind. I looked it up. I never knew it was called that.

So far as I can tell, these do nothing unusual.

And my Google still has an "I'm feeling lucky" button.

It used to be that if you tried to get directions from, say Paris to Seattle, in Google Maps, it would actually tell you to go across the ocean [g].

That's odd. They're still active on my PC and my husband's older laptop.

When you type: do a barrel roll, the Google page rotates 360.

When you type: askew, the Google page moves slightly off the horizontal.

When you type: recursion, a line appears, asking, "Did you mean recursion." Which is a recursion. :~)

Hmmm . . . swimming from Paris to Seattle would involve swimming through the continental US. That sounds like an old Chuck Norris joke.

Jesus can walk on water, but Chuck Norris can swim through dry land.

Well, it gives you driving directions until you get to the east coast. Then it tells you to swim [g].
