Ah, a new kakera I stumbled into. I wonder if this will be able to entertain me for a longer time than the last game that was so feeble that even a fabricated truth based on lies could shatter it so easily ( Read more... )

You think this is all some sort of game?

I do not think it to be a game, it is one.

But I cannot blame you for denying this fact. Most human pieces do not like to be seen as mere pieces in a larger game.

Games don't have things like poisoned milk and dead bodies.

And I'm not going to be anybody's piece.

[There is a faint chuckle] That, I am afraid, is improper reasoning. The kind of game I am talking about usually has dead bodies.

The question is: Is it within your power to make that decision? Can you just leave?

Why do all these new people call this a "game" and know of kakera?

mii. Are you new here, yeah?

Mii? Oh, I see. Even that piece...

Yes, you are right. I am [A pointed pause] Bernkastel.

Oh, Erika. [There is a pause. Bernkastels enthusiasm about this reunion appears to be not nearly as huge as her piece's, or is it?]

I take it Lambda is around as well?

Yes, she is!

I've also been working hard to collect data on this place for you! Dlanor and I have been working hard! [ Fishing for praise! ]

Wonderful. Of course, Sakutaro already told me that.

Did you? Maybe my trust wasn't completely misplaced after all.

[TrollBernkastel's praise isn't that easy to archive, though]

Yes, you are correct. It appears many of the last game found themselves here.

How interesting.

One particularly helpful girl explained a few details about this...town.

Why, were you offering your aid with explainations?

You say that this is some kind of game. What evidence do you have that suggests this?

beatssuperpaper January 18 2010, 16:13:41 UTC
Other than the fact that seemingly random entities have been gathered, forced to deal with a world governed by unexplained, seemingly nonsensical rules?

Other than the possibility that death may not be permanent in this place even for mortals, and leaving by other means also has been ruled out?

I suppose other than that, I have no evidence whatsoever.

[... Well that's interesting. We're already learning things.]

Seems like you're pretty quick. Though I can't say I didn't consider the same once I got here, among other things. And if you put it that way, it almost makes perfect sense.

But if it's not a game, what's that leave?

Most things are games, one way or another. It is just that, usually, the pieces involved don't notice being used.

Not to mention game theory.

I suppose the alternative would be 'freak accident'.
