I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I'm sure its rough watching someone you love suffer like that. And you're not an asshole for saying what you said, I'm sure he knows that it meant a lot to you. Hopefully all his radiation will get rid of the disease and you two will have plenty of time to fix your relationship. Good luck.
