Ok, here's some tricks Zach taught me in case he wasn't around...& what do ya know, it happened, one day the toilet overflowed & I almost forgot about it all at once :P
Inside the top part with the top, uncover it there will be a levy thingie back there that looks like an oil pumper, it holds off the stopper on the bottom that keeps the water flowing; get some regular closed sissors, keep the handle towards you & place the hard closed part beneath the lever & replace the top...now the leverage from gravity on the top will keep the stopper up causing the water to stop while you A) close the water beneath the seat at all (lefty loosy!) B) Use the plunger, call for help, whichever comes first :)
I hope that wasn't confusing, I'm bad at directions but good luck! That's somewhere on the top 10 hell-on-earth instances!:P
no that makes perfect sense! thanks...if only I had read that sooner! I plan to seriously know EVERYTHING about preventing this problems in the future.... aghshgsdhg :(
