My younger sister has recently undergone quite an interesting transition. She's your average 13 year old - I suppose. Up until a few weeks ago she listened to all of your boybands and teen pop idols. She constantly made complaints about my music, making frequent comments such as: "why dont you listen to NORMAL music?" I listen to just about ( Read more... )

I'm sure my brother and your sister would get on splendidly:> He could lend her his Blink 182 CD's, seeing how he's actually gone as far as to buy them all...

But oh wonder of all wonders, he actually asked me if I could make him a CD of songs I want him to hear, because (you'll never believe this) he likes Hat Shaped Hat, and so he was curious.

And this all leads to my brother listening to Ani, Sleater-Kinney and the Donnas. Or well... Atleast he listened to them once. (Otherwise I'd be all protective of my music... believe me, I know the feeling:>)

is your reaction irrational?? yes.
is it unusual?? HELL NO!!
I'd end up slapping my sister upside the head, if your sister was my sister, which she is not. Tell your sister to educate herself on the punk movement, it's VALUES (a.k.a., it's not blink and lip piercing), and more credible musical acts than Blink 182. I used to love those boys, back in the day. They're fun, I'll admit, but they're nostalgia music to me now.

I'm currently listening to Sublime... OH BRAD NOWELL!!! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE!!??? *sob sob sob*
