 I have 2 jobs.  Secretary by day, bartender by night.

I still have no car, but public transportation is pretty much getting the job done.

I've lost 10 pounds.  Hooray for biking and walking.  I feel like I should have lost more by now, but I'm working on it.

how did you get the secretary's position? do you know excel and word and outlook and stuff? i've thought about trying to work at a restaurant and work up to bartending but i don't know that i'd really like it. i don't like really public scenes. you know ( ... )

I worked at a temp agency after high school and throughout college I did secretarial work at various offices. So yes, I know excel (it's very easy to learn), but I don't have to use Outlook. If you have good typing skills (a high WPM score is a bonus, mine's 75 and most people's are more like 50-60 I believe when it comes to secretaries) and know how to answer a phone, you can be a secretary. The place I'm working at right now is the company my mom works at. I've worked there on and off since high school, so I already knew the computer system and data entry systems they use, which was a plus. It's temporary, but it'll last until November. I'm also editing some literature for them- it's a Refrigerating Specialties company, so I edit brochures on valves and whatnot. They have talked about keeping me on past November just to do editing and they'll pay me more money, so that's exciting ( ... )
