Theres so many little things about this that make me keep looking at it. Seriously, its about the 8th time today. Her face looks like a combination of the tragedy mask and geisha makeup. The eyes and mouth are just so expressive. Even if the hands/arms werent in that pose you could still clearly feel the emotion from it. Even the missing pieces work well, if you gave a brief description of the piece and told them what was written, theyd probably assume one if not the only missing piece would be at the chest, the heart. Its too easy though, it says more with other pieces being missing instead. Theyre not strategic, it makes the "missing" more ambiguous, the way feelings are inside of people. You can never really place what or where it is. As far as detail goes I have to say the work on the hair is extremely impressive. The curls are so natural looking, its just one of those things where you can see a little time and thought put into a part of a painting. The background works very well too its sort of gritty and the dark edges are sort ( ... )

Well, I recommend using oil paints as they're easier to work with and alot prettier in my opinion. I've been using acrylic, mainly because I bought it as a beginners set at... WALMART (Duh duh duuuhh!) It came in a box, with 4-5 different brushes, all the colors, and some mixers. It cost about 20 bucks total. I bought larger canvases as well.

It is recommended that you buy stuff at a craft store mainly because you'll get better supply, but hey, I only know that from the erea I am in. I heard it's different depending on the kind of store & etc. (excuse me im terribly tired)

Whenever you get around to doing something, you should show me. :)

i think ill start with the beginner set youre talking about, if i can find it at my wally world. ill move on to better things when i have more money haha. im not artistic enough to justify spending a LOT of money, i just think its something that would help me get things out.

which is plenty good enough for me.

and yes if i manage to get started, i shall surely share. =D

The colors, the face, her body positioning, the words, and the artisticness of it.
