I am proud

I had my first serious attempt at using Photoshop today. I found it difficult and confusing, but I'm proud of how much I've learnt and what I've managed to achieve. I feel like I'll get good if I keep practising, rather than just feeling like the whole thing was hopeless (as I did the times I fiddled with the program before and rapidly gave up). For being your first try at digital art, that is very nice!

Layers and layergroups/folders are your friend. Other than that I don't know what you want to know. < Pretends to know what she's talking about.

Thank you! I used layers (having had them explained to me by my partner) and am so glad that I did, or I would have totally messed the picture up. I did on more than one occasion draw on the wrong layer and have to back track a long way, but I was doing that less by the time I got this far, so it seems that I am improving XD

What is a layergroup?

As your first try, this is pretty damn good.

What I can say is get thyself onto dA for some tutorials for working with Photoshop (they help, trust me), maybe take a gander at Sandara's wips because you can learn a lot from her process.

Aside from that, practise, experiment, use layers and folders and just have fun. ^_^

It's much better than anything I can do in digital art. I'd be proud too.

That's looking fantastic so far! I wish I had an ounce of talent with art, but I can only claim a mediocre crafty streak! XD

Thank you! I am happy because I thought that all the art I had practised back in art college had now wasted away, but it seems it is just hidden in the depths of my mind somewhere. I just need to dig it out.
