Two bands that have recently started to grow on me: System of a Down and Dark New Day.

Has anyone heard much of either of their stuff? If so, what's your opinion on them?

I'm actually going to go see Dark New Day with Crossfade tomorrow

So how was it? Dark New Day, I mean. I could've seen them a couple weeks ago in Nashville. I should have gone, but it just didn't quite work out. I hear they sound pretty good live.

Awesome awesome awesome energy. They were one of the more energetic bands that I've seen in a while!

That's the exact same way I felt about Alter Bridge. And their singer was so perfect. It's amazing when a singer can sound exactly the same live as on the record. And he sounds great on the record!

I hope the singer for Dark New Day is like that, because he's awesome on the album.

here's my $0.02

System of a Down, while I give them a ton of respect, and like the fact that they forged new path through music and have a totally new and unique sound to their music...I cannot say I "like" them very much.

I don't turn them off if they come on the radio, but I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase one of their CDs or go to one of their concerts.

I have the deepest and purest respect for them, however.

Dark New Day is worse.

I adore System of a Down. I have ever since their self-titled album came out. I fell in love with Peephole, the creepy carnival riffs & Sugar. And I liked Toxicity & Steal This Album! had a couple of good songs, but their new album [part one anyway] is fucking awesome. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I strongly suggest the songs Sad Statue, Question! & Revenga off the new album. Can't wait until part II comes out this fall.

& never heard of Dark New Day, but I'm downloading their album Twelve Year Silence..
