I know it's not necessairily the greatest ever, but it's cheap and it sounds nifty: a copper tube. I have small fingers (and i hope i know what it is you'rereferring to by slider, as I don't pay too much attention to the formalities of guitar) so I don't know if it would work for everyone, but jsut like a piece of copper tube you can get for like a buck or 2 at a hardware store. hope thathelps.

Uhm... A beer bottle. When I was younger, I saw this rock band and the lead guitar used a beer bottle (without the label) and it sounded cool. I think he put his finger in the neck of the bottle and then... Yeah... Stuff....
