I wish more professors took the time to do this, it makes such a difference to actually hear it.

I can speak from personal experience that it is such a motivator. Most of my English classes were full year and therefore, the prof saw me for two full semesters. On my past paper, she commented how much I had grown as a writer and noted the improvements that I made.

I had always thought that profs just graded papers and were done with them, but this situation proved me wrong.

Thanks Sandy. I completely agree, it has been such a motivator for me especially because I too can see how I've changed from when I started to now and it's nice to hear that those improvements don't go unnoticed.
