I was sitting outside of the Texas History Museum today, waiting for my group from work, and I was surrounded by a bunch of middle schoolers when I heard one girl say "that's one of the mom's

I'm an avid concert-goer. The following might be a little insane, but here goes. I spent about $200 to see U2 during their All That You Can't Leave Behind tour a couple of years ago. The concert was alright. Last year, I spent $60 for 11th row seats to see Duran Duran's Astronaut tour. I was blown away. Sure, it was Duran Duran and it's hard to compare the two bands. Yet, it was easy to compare the two concerts. Everyone from DD mingled with the crowd. It was obvious they were having an awesome time and wanted the audience to really get into it. As for U2, it seemed like any other show for them. Bono acknowledged the audience on a few occasions, but nothing memorable. With DD, Simon LeBon was everywhere and the rest of the band was too. Just an awesome show...and perhaps the best concert I've ever been to.
Totally agree. A few years ago, I went to see Gavin DeGraw and two other artists; the show was very small, maybe 100 people if that, and we paid like $20. It's been my favorite concert so far because it was so low-key and all the artists did such a great job, they continuously interacted with the crowd and they put so much energy into their songs, especially Gavin - he played for two hours and still stuck around after the show to meet people. Maybe it just goes to says something about these huge, expensive concerts with such popular bands. But no disrespect to Coldplay, I still love them. :)
Hey! I thought the name looked familiar (and the icon too). Glad to see you back and thanks for the add; I went ahead and added you to my friend's list. Hope you're doing well. :)
