The voice calling his name turned into a muffled noise as Nino stuffed his earphones into his ears, blasting a song he wasn't even really paying attention to. Nino shut his eyes and brought his legs up onto the seat, pressing them tightly against his body.

The muffled noise was still buzzing behind him, causing Nino to clench his hand into a fist, and to see dark splotches of red pop up behind his closed eyelids.

A hand clasped Nino's shoulder. Nino jumped up and whirled around so quickly that his earphones fell out, and he could now clearly hear the shocked exclaim: “Nino!”

Nino glared at Aiba, but words weren't rolling off his tongue as he wanted them to. Nino stared back into the surprised, worried, almost scared and innocent eyes. Nino knew he couldn't soften even if it was his best friend, but he turned around again and stomped out of the room without a word.

Before Nino could find a deserted room, he stopped shortly and bent down in the middle of the hallway. His anger was boiling inside, but Nino couldn't let it out. It was as if it was all stuck in a big bundle, unable to even fit itself outside of Nino's head. Nino bit his lip, and he wouldn't be surprised if it started bleeding a moment later. Before that could happen however, soft, steady footsteps reached Nino's ears. The pace didn't hurry up or slow down when the person should have noticed Nino curled up in the middle of the hallway.

Nino clenched his pants and lessened his biting. Instead, he started shaking and stared firmly at the ground, though he wasn't seeing it.

And then, Nino saw the calm before it even reached him physically. He could see the dark blue ocean, waves splashing in different directions yet somehow still rhythmic. When the water reached him, Nino let himself fall- fall into the strong and protective waves that would take his life wherever it pleased to- and the blue washed away any red left in him.

Nino closed his eyes and sniffed in the sea salty scent. “You went again,” Nino whispered.

“It's a nice day outside,” Ohno murmured. He brought Nino closer to his chest, and Nino's ragged breathing slowed down with the steady heartbeat.

“So did you catch anything?” Nino asked after a long, peaceful silence.

“Mm, nothing special,” Ohno answered sadly. “It wasn't the right time,” to be out there, instead of with me, Nino finished Ohno's thoughts in his own mind.

Ohno placed his hands on Nino's small face and lifted it, forcing Nino to open his eyes. “Can I kiss you?” Ohno asked, blinking slowly.

Nino couldn't help but chuckle. “Acting as a gentleman all of a sudden? You've never asked me once.”

“So is that a yes or no?”

Nino lifted himself up and pressed his lips softly to Ohno's, then more firmly when Ohno answered him soon after. Ohno's hands caressed his back gently, and Nino lost himself into the waves that he trusted with his body and soul.
