Mud
by
Polly Chase Boyden

Mud is very nice to feel
All squishy-squash between the toes!
I’d rather wade in wiggly mud
Than smell a yellow rose.

Nobody else but the rosebush knows
How nice mud feels
Between the toes.

feet, memories, time-wasters, literature, poetry

When was the last time you let mud squish between your toes? I can remember the feeling, but can't remember the last time...

Have you ever listened to that pod where adults read things they wrote as kids?

I don't remember exactly, either, but I was a fan as a kid of barefootedness and what things felt like (physically felt like, texture, temperature, etc.) so walking in rain and the feeling of mud were joyful. Also liked to experience things with my feet and toes. Guess I am a primate, eh? Did you enjoy mud?

Argh, I can't open the podcast, assuming it is a podcast. Probably work filters busily protecting our network. I'll try at home, where the network is a wild west free-for-all of internet danger - demon whiskey, ladies of the evening, highwaymen, bullets flying, personal revelation podcasts. :)

I used to enjoy the mud, yes. I made mud pies, and ran around barefoot a lot. I used to enjoy running under the sprinkler, which led to some muddy, squishy between the toes sensations.

If you can't access that pod via the website, you can subscribe to it using the podcast app on your iPhone (assuming you have an iPhone), or using whatever your preferred podcast app is.

What's a personal revelation podcast? I wasn't aware of the genre. Care to share some examples?

The non-sequitur ultimate item for a list about a wild-west motif network, which allows the topics of rotgut, hookers with hearts of gold, banditos, gun-fights, podcasts in which I read aloud what I was thinking at 9 years old.
