In high school I ran cross-country and track. I remember liking all of my coaches, but there were a couple I truly loved. Coach Edwards instantly comes to mind. Ladders! I think I had blocked those out from my own cross country days, but definitely been there and done that red-faced, hands-on-head, practice-is-only-half-over-and-I'm-going-to-die experience. I'm not sure my coach's usual, "You'll pass out before you die!" was delivered with as much love and encouragement as it could have been, but getting to run in the state tournament was certainly sweet. :)

I personally needed a little SUCK IT UP encouragement this week. Thank you for providing it. And I thoroughly agree with your BE NICE advice as well. I'm a teacher, not a writer, but I think being nice is applicable to all professions everywhere.

Unrelated, but since I'm already breaking my silent reader habit to comment . . . SILENCE - what a powerful title! Cannot wait to read it. And I love that Bon Jovi's Always is in the playlist.
