this is kind of cocky of me to say, but it made me feel good and i wanna share it with youse guys
so in Astro discussion today i was sitting there and we were talking about stuff and i always think my TA is constantly glancing at me like she takes a special interest in me. not that she thinks i'm hot shit or anything, she just knows i listen i think. anyways. it's the end of class, and a handful of us hang out afterwards to talk about astro-theory stuff that none of us really understand. i just had some questions about the homework due tomorrow, and there was one girl that was standing there that typically i wouldn't assume would be one to stay after discussion to talk to the TA (read: she's kind of ditsy)
my mind kind of was wandering and i thought, hey maybe she's just hanging out to wait till i leave so she can talk to me (because we were in a group once a while ago and we were getting along pretty well). i seriously didn't believe any of this, sometimes i just like to make up scenarios in my head that make me feel nice.
well, my TA had to leave so she could get a student his test or something and i was packing my stuff up, and it was just me and this girl left in the classroom. she looks at me and says, "Hey, do you think it'd be okay if i got your phone number if i ever have a question about any of this stuff?" and i just stared at her kind of dumb founded cause this girl is super hot and totally not someone i'd think would be interested in me. after a little pause because i had no idea what to say, she said "WELL cause you seem to know what's going on in here pretty well" (I don't actually, but i kind of understand it).
this is me: "DUGHHH UHHH YEAH! umm... yeah!" at this point i'm fumbling around for my phone for some reason even though she asked for MY number. then i realized what i was doing i tell her my number and say "yeah and my name is Lenny" and she says "Yeah i know"
this is what's going on in my head: "?!?!?!?"
how does she know my name?? whatever.
so i'm like "okay so what's your number? might as well make it a fair exchange" wow i say some COOOOOL stuff sometimes so I get her number and her name, cause i never knew it before and i guess it's Carolyn. fun stuff, i guess she's a HUGE Killers fan, which is kind of a bummer cause i do NOT like the killers, idk too poppy for me.
but my big head isn't done getting inflated yet, I went down the stairs to go hand in my assignment that's due tomorrow, and I see Emily (my astro TA) talking to some other Grad kid. I guess she was venting about the stupid kids who come to her office hours all the time and she sees me and she says "Except Lenny! Lenny's the best!" haha that was awesome. I didn't know how to react and i just said "What? what're you talking about?" and etcetera.
so that's cool, made me feel happy...
on another really cool fun thing today there's an awesome "New Beer Thursdays" article in the daily cardinal that made me LOL. literally, in the classroom before class i started laughing and smiling and i couldn't stop myself for like three minutes straight. here's that:
