I work at Cambie and 6th! I'm sure our organizations cross paths here and there.

I think the best choices out of these are the crisis centre and disabled children...
last year I was going to volunteer for the cancer society, but i couldnt find a weekday to do it! if only I could work 4 day weeks...
life would be so much more..leisurely and fufilling...

well, ideally the avenue that i choose to devote my time will allow me to only do one or two evenings/weekends a week. i've been finding a lot of interesting things online and i think that dabbling around might make me more intune with the needs of my community.

working in cancer would scare me to death!!!

If I were to personally pick one of those options, it would be big sister. I think that's a venue where you really get to see the impact you are having on someone. I personally think one-on-one would be less challenging for me.

BUT if you alrady have experience with groups, maybe that route would be better because less people would be comfortable with a group and you talents wouldn't be wasted on 'only' one person.

I look forward to hearing what you decide.

I agree, I think that being a big sister is the one that i've been thinking about the most and for the longest time. I think that I have a lot to give and I know that I'm super great with kids...

I suggest Big Sister. Only because I'm selfish, and wish you were mine.
