Four Drabbles
All of my drabbles for this week's open_on_sunday's challenge of Watching.
Hero

Subject: Watching
They didn't pay attention when Buffy slipped into Xander discarded jacket. But Faith saw. She watched as the blood dripped down her side, landing with soft plops on the dirty aisle as Buffy knelt between seats tending to the girls.
"Buffy..." Faith pleaded but Buffy just shook her head. She wanted to scream at Buffy to stop, to sit down. She was hurt, hurt bad, but she understood. "Let me help you with that." Faith took over bandaging Ronda.
Buffy muttered, "thanks," before heading on to the next injured girl. And Faith watched in awe at a hero at work.
Gift

Subject: Watching
Willow sat next to Tara. "I was thinking about Xander's birthday. Well, the gift part and I think since he likes it so much..."
"B-but it seems wrong to give him... that."
"I was thinking something he could watch, like a DVD. So if he's at home all alone... he can watch it."
"Don't you think he'd be embarrassed? If we gave him that in front of everyone? It's kinda private."
"So we will put it in a different case. No one will know."
"If you say so." Tara sighed. "But where are we gonna find a Backstreet Boys DVD?"
Outraged

"Are you watching this?" Xander asked outraged.
"We're watching." Buffy nodded grabbing a handful of popcorn.
"Do you not see how very wrong this is? I mean it's just so fake!"
"I like the giggling." Willow piped up. "It's kind of cute."
"Oh you'd like it alright! You don't have to have nightmares of the mocking."
"Evil mocker!" Buffy repressed a giggle.
"And look! The vibrating! Did you see that? And it's a cheap one, no craftsman ship at all."
"And we all know that vibrators should be well-crafted."
Xander sighed. "All I'm saying is Tickle-Me-Elmo is a cheap toy."
Trained Watcher

Timeline \ Spoilers: Bargaining Pt. 1
Subject: Watching
They trained him in field combat and various weapons. They crammed his head with knowledge and gave him volumes to fill in any blanks. They gave him a visa, a plane ticket, and a manila envelope with her information.
And Rupert Giles had thought himself prepared...
But no one told him about her death, about watching her die. They left out about the pain. And no one ever told him what to do afterwards, when his world was gone.
So he said goodbye as best he could and boarded the plane home, finding himself thoroughly trained in nothing that mattered.
And this goes without saying... Im a feedback whore.
