This was the first World Cup Finals I've ever watched.
It was kinda cool. I'm glad somebody scored, cuz that may have altered my opinion.

Nice! World Cup Finals tend to be anti-climatic - too much pressure on the players, I guess. So it wasn't the greatest of games, but it's still pretty cool that we were watching the same thing at the same time with hundreds of millions of people around the world - one of the largest shared human experiences.

But yeah, towards the end I was like, "I don't care who scores, I just don't want it to go to penalties!"

I agree. It was quite the event. We went to a neighborhood bar. Everyone there was there to drink beer and watch the game. Standing room only. It was pretty fun. GF was rooting for Spain, so I'm glad it went that way. And all the shots on goals were each very exciting.

And I said the same thing near the end. It was pretty awsome that Spain finally scored at minute 116 out of 120 :P

Watching in bars was definitely the way to go. We showed up at a bar at 10:15am (the game started at 11:30am here) and I expected to be the first one there but there was already a crowd lining up and the bar wasn't even open yet. Loved it!
