Putting UK Birth Records To Good Use...!

Jun 13, 2010 21:41

I figured some of you Voyager fans might get a kick out of this! I was randomly searching on Ancestry (family tree website which has UK births registered on it) and as I've been on a Voyager kick lately I decided to see if anyone has named their kids after Voyager characters ( Read more... )

voyager, star trek, lmao

Yep - and a surprising number had it as a first name, and not just a middle name. There are some strange people out there...

Having said that, I am now seriously contemplating Chakotay Marquis Tiberius Spock for my first child. Boy or girl ;)

oh dear...
I like that the most used name is Jadzia- but you can get away with that just being a nice unusual name i guess...

I got bored- and looked up on behind the name- aparently Neelix isn't a name- but Jadzia is originally polish.

Haha, that's insane! People are giving their kids some crazy names...though I guess to most people Chakotay and B'Elanna would just be very unusual names that don't have any particular significance.

Yeah but can you imagine being James Tiberius. It would be bad enough to be James Thomas or something. People would take the piss that you were James T, but you could at least defend yourself with your perfectly normal middle name. But James Tiberius!

Friend: Hey, James, what's your middle name?
James: *mumbles*
Friend: Sorry, I didn't quite get that.
James: Tiberius.
Friend: *dies laughing*

Very true... Worf though, a lot of people would get that. There are some cruel parents out there!

This is entirely delightful! Thanks for the smile. I wonder what language claims Neelix as a name! I rather hope it's not a Voyager homage by some english-speaking British parent!

Glad you liked it :) I don't know, but Helen did some research and apparently it's not a name... on behalf of my country I do rather hope it IS a real name in some culture. Chakotay, B'Elanna and Jadzia I can just about excuse, but Neelix is rather cruel!
