Probably not a Member of QED (but you never know)
Yesterday, the Quail Emancipation Directive (QED) sent Lantern Books the following press release. This group of avian activists has been involved in various direct action campaigns since June 2002, when elements loyal to the anarchist sparrow Sine Quail Non reportedly were shown Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds at an undercover meeting (and pot-luck dinner) in Kansas City, Missouri. Lantern Books neither condones nor apologizes for QED's recent actions nor advises any other birds to undertake any similar actions. Nor does it know the exact whereabouts or identity of said birds.
Corpus Christi, Texas, February 14, 2006. In solidarity with our brothers and sisters worldwide engaged in germ warfare against human beings using Avian Flu, on Saturday February 11, 2006, QED activists working in south Texas initiated an action against U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney in response to his and others' unprovoked assaults on the innocent citizens of the Quail Nation over many years.
In a stunning display of coordination and organization, the Corpus Christi Covey (CCC) reconnoitered the area where Vice President Cheney and other members of his assassination squad were gathered and established "Operation Quail Lewd," a tactical disinformation program designed to cause the hit-men to miss their designated targets and instead of shooting quail shoot themselves-preferably in parts other than the foot.
Operating under thick brush cover, one quail squad distracted the hunting party by shouting "Six deferments and still you ain't shot anyone" in rapid fire to the Vice President's left, while another quail posse held up cleverly photoshopped photographs of a previous Bush vice president being sexually abused by members of our Fowl Deeds Collective and yelling "Our males impaled Quayle: You're next Dick!"
Clearly distracted, Cheney misfired and shot a fellow assassin. No members of the Quail Emancipation Directive were hurt in the incident. Quail Freedom!
