I was excited about the X-Men anime, but then I found out that Rogue wasn't in it and I just couldn't bring myself to watch it. There could be a dozen insanely attractive characters in it and a stellar plot, but without Rogue it's nothing to me.

OMG. Tiger and Bunny. Please tell me you've seen episode 2? I need someone to squee with. I still have some reservations about the in-house advertising, but it's just so awesome in every other way that I honestly don't mind as much as I thought I would (re: potential plot failures in particular). I don't want to spoil the episode for you if you haven't seen it, but ... so much love.

I didn't mind the cast line-up, since they're pretty iconic characters and mostly the originals (swapping out Bobby and Warren for Ororo and Logan--but they needed another woman and Logan being there is just a fact of life), so I'm okay with that. I'd have liked a bigger cast and I would have really liked to see Rogue and Gambit in there, but we'll see how things turn out. But I definitely understand the whole feeling of "not having my favorite character" = "meh for me". I'm kind of close to that with them killing Jean off in the first episode. No Jean? Ehhhhh.

I just finished snagging episode 2! I'm a little wary of watching it because I loved the first episode so much and I don't want to end up disappointed by the second, but... I'm totally going to cave into watching it any minute now. But if you're still excited about it, then I'm cautiously optimistic!

They killed off Jean? I'd noticed she wasn't in the line-up, but I thought they were basically either just ignoring her character/planning on introducing her later. I was only ever so-so about her character prior to Evolution, but I LOVED her in that and she's become one of favourite characters since. I just sort of prefer her away from Scott, who tends to work my last nerve a bit. So, no Rogue or Jean is a pretty bad hand for me And yet, it is X-Men. Still so tempting....

I can understand going with a different line up (and in particular, the originalish line-up), because some of the stories have been done do death a bit across the various media. That said, I've always actually enjoyed the different spins the different series put on the relationships/key events.

YOU MUST WATCH TIGER AND BUNNY NOW! In fact, I might just have to watch the episode again.

Given that I've seen Emma in the promotional art sometimes, I figured they wouldn't even bring Jean up, that she'd have been long dead, but I suppose I should have known that they'd mine her death for angst for Scott. But that is very, very close to being a deal breaker for me--no Jean and potential Scott/Emma, vomit. I'm really only watching for the novelty of it and the pretty art and that maybe it'll do something interesting. But, oh, man, I used to OTP Scott/Jean so hard and now I'm kind of the same as you--GET HER AWAY FROM SCOTT, SAVE HERRRRR--!!

It also ticks me off because they took one of the few positive stick-in-the-mud characters and then turned him into a total asshole so, ugh, of course we can never have anything nice.

I love reading your FarmVille posts, they inspire me to actually do stuff with my dinky little lvl 54 farm. :( Stuff aside from "SHEEPS OVER HERE CROPS OVER THERE", anyway.

I am delighted to a) hear that and b) hear that you're playing Farmville! I full encourage the playing with the farms and arranging them cutely because that is what makes Farmville fun! And also! You should post pictures when you start doing stuff! :D :D :D :D It'll be fun! :D :D :D :D

This is a few days late, but I'm loving this anime season! Watched T&B and loved it!

There are a few more anime I've watched and KIV-ing and I can't wait for a few more episode to seal the deal for me XDD
