You know, this reminds me that I really should finish reading the manga. I only ever got through the first 14 volumes, since that's all the library had gotten through, but I keep dragging my feet because I'd probably have to start over and augh, SO MANY VOLUMES. @__@ (Well, not compared to One Piece or anything, but still.)

Oh DUDE. The TV series only reached up to volume 17-18 before they started up with those lousy fillers that got the series cancelled! The first OAV series covered the flashback arc, and the second OAV series is, in my opinion, garbage. GARBAGE. (Even Watsuki hated it!)

They never animated the final story arc! The flashback arc took up about 2 volumes of those remaining 10 volumes but the rest were all about someone taking revenge on Kenshin. This is the arc that pretty much every person who's read the manga has been waiting for, in terms of an anime adaptation.

See, this is what I get for only vaguely being into the series! I've only ever watched a handful of the anime episodes (it never clicked with me the way the manga did) so I always thought that they'd animated the whole thing--since it was 90-some episodes and RK was only, what, 28 volumes?

Clearly, I am going to have to get in gear and just read the manga already. :|b

As for Ao no Exorcist, I think the problem is that they don't have a lot of material TO animate yet. It doesn't have a lot of source material to draw on for a 26-episode series.

If I recall, it's not that many chapters over 20, right? *checks* 23 so far, it looks like. While I'm not opposed to it being an anime (because I really like the manga a lot!) it does make me wonder what they're even going to do with that little source material.

(And why does Japan keep choosing these on-going series when there are perfectly good finished manga that don't have an anime yet!)

I really enjoyed the first episode of Deadman Wonderland. Then again, it was one of the series I'd really been looking forward to seeing animated. The only complaint I have (and it's not even that, really) is hearing Hanazawa Kana with the exact same voice she used in Fractale. Now I will forever associate Shiro with Nessa ( ... )

Something I thought was pretty neat that a friend pointed out: Madoka essentially made a wish that recreated her moments with Homura (taking her hand right before her soul gem gets fully corrupted, telling Homura all her efforts won't go to waste) with each and every magical girl. To her, being a magical girl wasn't bad at all! And the worst thing about the system was turning into a witch. Now with Madoka's wish, she reconstructed the deconstruction.

Ooh, good point about Walpurgisnacht, maybe she'll show up in one of the manga series.

I watched the end of Madoka, finally -- I assumed with Madoka's wish that it was constructed not to totally destroy history, because let's face it, every time a time traveller steps on the wrong ant ten thousand years ago, etc etc, and having seen Cleopatra and so forth, Madoka had to know that reversing the entire thing would just end badly. So it made sense to me ( ... )
