So, thanks to Meg, I'm on Glitch and just sort of poking about and having fun. It's so pretty! And I only have to play in short bursts of time! And it's so soothing and cute and fun!
The way Donald Glover delivers that line, without any irony or over-selling it, just a very understated, "Duh, Britta." quality was sheer perfection. Perfection!
I've never really played any games so this is a new experience for me and pretty much my intro to MMOs. Although many people have pointed out to me that it's nothing like your regular MMO, which probably explains why it interests me in ways the other kinds don't? Because I like the fact that I can just play in bursts and then stop and then come back and pick up where I left off with no worries!
I can't wait until you meet your first drug pusher. Oh! I forgot to tell you I was almost mugged in the Serengeti by a bandit who wanted my gurly alcoholic drink!
I am always SUPER CURIOUS about people's interactions with on-line games, especially browser-based ones like this, so sorry if I seem a little extra chatty about it! XD
I've played a few MMOs, but never very deeply (I'm not fond of interacting with other people, usually because most of them are jerks or figuring out the etiquette can be difficult), but Glitch does feel generally like WoW, just... cuter and nicer and without the fighting enemies part! Much less stressful to just do quests and mining! And much, much more geared towards playing in shorter bursts like this, which I love. AND NOT PUNISHING YOU FOR DYING. OH, BLESS YOU FOR THAT, GLITCH.
What I'm really curious about is seeing where the game goes and how they're going to develop it from here, if they're going to just stick to adding new quests or if there will eventually be new features, too!
Well, they do expand the world! I know there are street projects where the players (higher level because you need certain skills) build them! And of course, the people who form groups and fight the giant black birds of doom.
Dan Harmon is a genius. Even though Community isn't always on spot, it always has a moment of sheer brilliance. Last week's epi was without a doubt, top shelf through and through. I was actually amused that Harmon had to blog a post about the timing of the epi as it was technically out of sequence from production. XDDD
