Challenge #3 - Oops/Drabble Tree
Okay, Challenge #2 was... not so much.
Nothing for the weakness challenge, and only my story (Human Body IX: Delete) for the Michael Tag challenge.
So this week I'm going to try something different.
First: A typical broad challenge. Oops. Someone has made a mistake. What did they do and how do they go about fixing it and/or getting forgiveness? Any and all stories/art/whathaveyou welcome.
Second: A Drabble Tree. This went over so well at my LJ yesterday, that I want to try it here.
I know there are two ways to work a tree, but I'm going to use the last word/first word system, wherein the drabbles are *not* connected to each other. If someone starts with an angst drabble that takes place in "Conversion" you can follow it up with a steamy sex scene theoretically set in season 6 and then someone can follow you up with a light, fluffy humor bit set in an Horatio Hornblower/Atlantis crossover.
The connection comes from using the last word as the first word in the next drabble.
So it doesn't matter what kind of story/drabble you want to write just so long as it's Sheppard/Beckett
So if the last word in my drabble is 'hot', you have to start your first sentence with 'hot'. And it should branch out like a family tree. If two people want to start drabbles with 'hot' that's great. Just be sure you hit 'reply' to the original story that ended with that word. Then people can pick up from the two different endings of the different 'hot' drabbles.
Make sense? (BTW, I'm not anal about word count. If you come up with 93 or 105 words, no one's going to hunt you down. If you come up with a couple hundred words... you're just awesome. :)

"What do you want to watch?" John hollered as he flipped through his DVD case. Finding that he still had a couple of borrowed DVDs he added, "Hey, you ever watch Blackadder?"
Carson looked over at him, "With..." he stopped and wrinkled his eyebrows in thought. "The black-haired bloke as the star, I can't think of his name."
"Rowen Atkinson," John supplied.
"Aye, that's the one. You have that?"
John held up a DVD, "Borrowed them from Rodney a few weeks ago. Turns out he's a bit of a Brit-com geek. As well as several other kinds."
Carson chuckled at that and nodded. "Sounds lovely. "
John stuck the DVD in and grabbed two beers from the fridge. He opened them both and handed one to Carson as he settled in next to him on the sofa.
As John hit ‘play’, they settled into their customary places, with John’s feet on his footlocker and Carson stretched out across John and the sofa.
There really was nothing like a quiet night at home.
So... who's next? You need to start your drabble with the word "home". We'll leave this running for the next two weeks. And don't forget, several people can start from the same ending word. Don't worry about someone getting to a word before you. It's all good! Just post your drabble as a comment to this post. :) Throughout the next two weeks I'll post the drabble trees so that we can all find this post as it gets buried in our friendslist. After two weeks we should have a great crop of drabbles!
