Avoiding Commissions Like A Boss.

Apr 02, 2011 21:12

So okay, I'll admit it, I've been avoiding doing commissions the last few days. Sometimes I just need a break from them - but it's all good, I'm not really a work-sky lay-about, having some time away from a painting/drawing actually lets me see it with "fresh eyes" which is not as creepy as it sounds. It helps for me to see the mistakes, what needs ( Read more... )

Oh, that picture of Sam is a winner!

Never saw the program the other drawing is from. But that would be a cool medium for drawing Dean :)

Thank you!

I have done a few of Dean in colour pencils [and to be honest I did sketch a new Dean one intended for colour pencils a few days ago!], but yeah, Jensen is great to draw in colour!

Sammy's drawing is just amazing!! You did well in leave it like that... it looks fantastic!! (Btw, if you don't have a buyer already, my sis & I might consider buying it ;) )

My sis and I have never watch the Pacific either... and the background... it is perfect as it is! I (Patrícia) was just talking to my sis saying whether you could add a background like dark tiles, but then she added that it might be confusing, and you couldn't pay as much attention to the drawing as it is... which I think maybe she is right. The colours in it are just gorgeous! You did a fantastic job on both drawings, really! Congrats!

As for Tumblr... we are still getting used to it ourselves, but there are really cool stuff there :)

have a wonderful evening! ♥

Thank you very much!
I'll probably be offering prints of this drawing when I can sort the prints out, as I crumpled the edge of the original drawing [you can probably see it a bit on the top left hand corner!], but thanks for the interest.

And again thank you! I just wasn't sure if a background would distract from the drawing or add to it! I'll probably leave it for now though!

have a wonderful evening! ♥

You too!

You're welcome! :) and thank YOU for sharing such amazing art with us. You are extremely talented. I still remember how much Jensen loved your drawings when I gave them to him last year in Rome ♥

Oh, and that would be awesome. We'll definitely be interested :)

It is a fabulous drawing as well :)

Thanks! We'll probably watch something on the tv and then go to bed!

This is just a quick comment as I have to go make cupcakes! I am no expert but I do love my colour pencils. I use Faber Castell Polychromos. And, of course, you may know this already...but one thing I find invaluable when drawing faces/skintones is a brush. A stubby short haired brush, that you use to blend colour on the page. It gives a nice smooth look, especially for kids peachy little faces! And it also takes away some of the look of the white paper background that I find shows through the colour sometimes.

This is a link to someone I follow on LJ, although she hasn't updated in a while, and was starting to branch into digital art. But this is where I found out about the brush technique!

Btw, Sammy looks beautiful!

Mmm cupcakes!

Ahhh a brush! I don't know why I didn't think of it as I use a brush to help blend when I'm using graphite! Duh!
But thank you very much for the tip and link, it'll be a great help!

Btw, Sammy looks beautiful!

And thank you!

Ufffff Hey I totally lied about the photo thing. I haven't gotten around to taking the photo yet, and the books come out tomorrow, and augh so busy. I'm sorry :( I'm sure you'll find someone else. And if you still feel like, I'd love to do it after the entrance exams.

It's fine! I know how rushed off your feet you are! I have plenty of work at the moment to keep me busy, but the offer is always open to you!
