Was I the only one who saw?

I just saw something really disturbing at the grocery store. OK, in the parking lot... but first let me mention that I saw a family - a mom and dad with a little girl about 3-4 jumping all around, being kind of nutsy- as kids that age are prone to be- especially my own. I noticed them because well, the little girl was asian, and the parents were ( Read more... )

OMG! WTF? with the response of the parents. I think Hailey would beupset, too. I would probably be like you. It would be hard to process and bother me very much.

Oh I know! I bet you would feel the same way if you were there!

I probably wouldn't go so far as to call 911 unless there was an actual sign of injury but I'd sure as hell be giving my child a thorough once-over and comforting them. Noah's a monkey and always climbing on things, therefore he's always fall from things and getting hurt. Bumps, bruises and scrapes are par for the course on a daily basis for me. Maybe this kid is the same way?

I'm almost positive she is the same way- I saw her dive bomb from a shelf in the grocery store and jump around a lot- lord knows we've been injured in public before ;) , but the sound of her hitting pavement was sickening- I know toddler injuries pretty well and this was a "oh shit, she's really hurt" sound... I just worry!

one time we were at hershey park and echo must have been around two or so, maybe three. anyways, i was sitting on a bench with her and paige while jaco and my sister were riding some roller coaster, and shes standing on the bench and holding on to the back of the bench and all of a sudden she fell backwards and cracked her head right on the cement and i FREAKED THE FUCK OUT. and like, you know how theres no blood or anything but it just sounds so so so so so bad and im like oh no jaco is gonna kill me i broke the baby jaco is gonna kill me dont let her go to sleep DONT LET HER GO TO SLEEP. and then i was like should i tell him? cause i mean i calmed her down and she seemed ok but like if she DIED later on from untreated brain injuries jaco would be so so so so so so so mad. YES I KNOW IM MORE SCARED OF BEING IN TROUBLE but my brain works weird when shit like that happens.

but she didnt die! thats my happy ending to that story

Unfortunatly, there isn't really anything you can do in that situation....

i don't think there's much you can do except to hope they got the little girl the attention she probably needed.

these ppl obviously didn't care about the child which leads me to a semi off tangent story about a woman i met (she was a customer) when working at whole foods years ago.

she adopted two russian girls, i think they were sisters. she was so happy and proud but i swear everything she told me led me to believe she wanted them to be her maids. it was so sad. she told me one day that "oh my and so and so learned how to use the vacuum". i'm sitting there w/ a dropped jaw thinking "wtf". and she put BELLS on their shoes so they couldn't run off w/o mommy knowing.

it was so weird............i had to wonder if there was any love there.

don't get me wrong, not all parents who adopt are like that, as you well know.................but when you see situations like that, you have to question their intentions.
