Onward to an old volcano....
Drove from Kaikora to Akaroa today. Great fun - tested the CoPilot routing software - and it's not bad... - quiet (because I'm a miser!) - but it's up-to-scratch!
So....... the views...... are spectacular!
We got to the motel and decided to explore the hills.... great fun..... and one hell of a view - both out and looking down at the side of the ( Read more... ) -

We're about to leave Kaikora today - heading for Akaroa!
The run down was excellent from Picton and it's stunning when you turn a corner in the road.... and then there's a bloody great white capped mountain smiling at you.....

To the hills... to the hills......
Funny.... we have some halfway decent hills around here.... and I found the road into them. Such roads are rare here - because Kiwi's are more inclined to tramp somewhere rather than drive there... which does get problematic when you want to take some camera gear with you....

'Me' time again.....
Been marketing and talking to a prospective client who's actually asked me to complete a spreadsheet for her.... which is really nice!
So - after 5pm, they'd all locked up and gone home.... so I had a late lunch of chicken bits at the beach and setled in for 20 minutes with a pencil....

Don Quixote rides again....
So - this place is big on wind power - and claims it's a success.
As always, there's a price to pay for success..... and they're paying it! If you look at pictures of the hills to the west of Wellington.... there's huge great tracts of hilltop that are covered with damned wind turbines.... and they look damned ugly!

I'd just like to say...... that for the first time in remembrance....... I'm weighing in at under 90kg ( Read more... ) -
Another year older.... and feeling like it's 2000 years older....
So - I took the day off, had my hair done in Wellington, went 'piggy, piggy' at the salad bar.... and had a bt of chocolate in the 'afters'..... - all in all - an acceptable day!
I also had a camera with me.... the 'big boy'...... and chatted to an indian guy who'd just bought himself a new Sony and was having fun with it.... I even gave him a few ( Read more... )
