Well. It's been a crazy few weeks. Guess I'll update.

Brian broke up with me. All's well that ends well. HA. whatever, anyway. We had a family birthday party for all of our winter birthdays on saturday night, so I made a cake. It was fun. If I knew how to post pictures, I certainly would. Also, the past week I've been trying to burn all of my cds onto my computer. It's kind of a pain but I like listening to music from my computer so much better than from my CD player. It's too bad I didn't realize that I have like a bazillion cds before I undertook this project.

I've gotten two college acceptance letters, sort of. Each school I applied to will eventually send me a letter from the actual college and a separate letter from the music department, regarding my audition. I've gotten the music letter from UNH and the college letter from UConn. Haha it's actually kind of a bad system because I could get an acceptance from the music department, but a rejection letter from the actual university, and I wouldn't be able to go there. And vice versa, so i'm not getting my hopes up. Now I just need to hear from the other departments of those schools, and both departments from UMass.

Speaking of which, yesterday I went to UMass with Mr. Adams. It was a lot of fun, I love that man so much. Christine Manseau had her senior recital at UMass yesterday so he invited me to go with him, because she's a clarinet player and I auditioned there. Haha he picked me up at my house and looked at our marimba (Mr. Adams in my house... weird but cool) and then we went to UMass. I was worried we wouldn't have anything to talk about for the two hours each way, but it wasn't awkward or anything, which was great. He gave me a little tour of the campus (which has a lot of concrete buildings) and we watched the recital. It was really amazing. There was a fantastic junior piano player who is majoring in piano performance. She was so good. And Christine was breathtaking. I never knew her before I went to west, but she is a really good player. She has excellent control. And her sound is amazing, holy crap. It made me want to go home and practice. So I did. *loser*

Anyway after the concert, Mr. Adams and I went down to the little post-concert reception area and happened to run across Professor Sussman, who is the clarinet professor. Incidentally, he auditioned me last weekend. So he chatted with Mr. Adams for a while and then he said it was nice to see me and that he hoped he'd see me there again. I said, "Yes... me too" and they both laughed, and then Prof. Sussman sort of leaned over and was said, "I think you'll be okay... I'm not allowed to say more than that, but I think you'll be okay." and then he walked away and Mr. Adams and I were like.... hey cool! =) Hooray

So then we drove home for an hour and stopped at pizza hut for dinner (I'm terrible at making decisions but he convinced me to decide where we ate AND what to get! What a guy. I felt so proud). Mr. Adams had never had chicken pizza before, so he gave it a try. It was delicious. And... then we drove another hour and got home. Success. We did a lot of talking about being a music teacher and stuff like that. I felt really lucky to be able to talk to him. I'm sad that I'll be leaving, but I'm so excited for college, and it also occurred to me that I'm excited to go off and learn so I can invite him to my recital when I get older, so he can see how I've done. Haha, we had a good laugh over the fact I listen to his advice more than I listen to my parents. hahaha I rock.

So, that was fun. Now I need to read The Prince and write a paper on it by the time vacation is over. Also I have to pick up a few books at barnes and noble and I should really work on that pile of blank scholarship forms sitting on my floor. No fun. Also, I think I have an amazon certificate from a past birthday or something that I need to use up. I hope today is productive. It probably won't be, seeing as I randomly woke up at 8:30 this morning still haven't done anything constructive, with the exception of writing this blindingly captivating journal entry and taking a shower. Maybe I'll go have breakfast. Happy vacation.

It just occurred to me that i'm allowed to update this thing whenever I want. sweet!
