You had me right up until the DaVinci Code. Everything else about the fic is really good - the details of what Hotch is feeling, Reid's reactions, it's all great, but the choice of that book threw me right out of the fic.

Well that's an easy fix. All gone. And thank you for the feedback and I'm glad at least most of it worked for you!

Wow! I didn't expect my comment to have that much influence. Hey, now write a sequel! With smut! I'M DRUNK WITH POWER! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

... I should probably lay off the caffeine now.

*laughs* I listen to feedback! And it was an easy fix.

And, um. I'm 1500 words into writing a sequel with smut. Because I like smut.

Not helping the drunk with power thing, huh?

I like the story. I don't know that I have anything more coherent to say about it than that at the moment - probably because it's been a while since I watched Criminal Minds, and have been focused elsewhere for a while.

And there's a conflict of tense here:

He *does* still knows he’s there because he wants to be

"knows" should be "know"

I love it when I leave that kind of mistake in - and by love I mean hate.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

*hugs you* Happens to everyone from time to time.

And my brain is processing better as I let it mull things over... Which means I might well have a longer response to the story later. *shrugs*

Also, I'm glad you posted it. It's making me a little less nervous about (eventually) posting the fic I've been working on for the last month and a half. When it's finished, anyway, or I'm afraid I never will finish it.

If that makes sense?

It makes sense. I haven't posted fic in a few years. I'm rusty, and putting fic up makes me feel all timid and vulnerable, just like it did The First Time.

That was very intense. I liked how you portrayed Hotch's fears and struggles and the utter weariness they both felt at the end. I also liked how you left it open-ended and the subtle shift from Hotch's choices up to that moment to being Reid's choice at the end. Really intriguing premise and well done fic.

Thank you, very, very much. I am still trying to figure out how I feel about the characters and my 'groove' writing them, so your comment not only made my morning but made me feel just a little bit more confident that I'll get there.

Thank you, again.

Oh I am such a sucker for behavioral psych allusions. Such a nice piece of writing and I was literally holding my breath for much of it. Looking forward to the smutty sequel.;)
