Hotch isn’t blind. He isn’t stupid. He certainly isn’t oblivious, and Reid isn’t subtle.
He knows there’s something there. He won’t call it love, because after years of marriage ‘love’ is more than an emotion, but he won’t dismiss it as a crush or infatuation, either. Defining it isn’t important, because no matter what he calls it, he can’t do anything about it.
All he can do is try not to encourage it, and hope Reid moves on, and trust that Reid understands the impossibility of the situation.
