Running update

It's been a tough week in my running.  Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of what I'm doing, really--I'm still at 10 miles a week with my longest run at 4 miles.  But I think the newness of this level of activity is catching up to me.  I've heard that can happen when you launch into a heavy training program--you can experience a lot of soreness ( Read more... )

Stretch, stretch, stretch!

Then stretch some more. Seriously 10-15+ times a day would not be unreasonable. Just take your toe, put it on top of something and inch or two high, and lean forward and stretch for 15-20 seconds. Repeat for the other leg. Or do your own favorite calf stretch.

This has made me feel much better in the past when I've had some calf soreness problems.

I do stretch a lot (OK, maybe not 10-15 times a day...), but I don't know a stretch that will get at the inner part of my lower legs. I can get my calves, hamstrings, quads, and even the outside of my lower legs, but the inside? I'm stumped. How can you stretch that? Because that's what hurts now.
