While this is totally unrelated to your brother, I actually loved the ending because of what it took to get there.. the whole series Spike is a total hypocrite because he talks about how his past is nothing but trouble, how women and kids are trouble, and yet, it took just a mention one person to throw him back into it all.

Sure, he had a nice little liason on the Bebop, but I think his real place was part of that syndicate; he finally did get to run away with Julia, like they said they would, and even the cinematography after-the-fact kinda implied it, to me...

Strange as it seems, I thought the ending was uplifting. o.o No ending in death, and all that.

Funny thing is, today, I agree with you, Laura. I was in hysterics last night, though, after seeing that. But thinking about it today, it was bittersweet, and I seem to be a fan of that. *wry smile ( ... )

Unrelated to your brother, I don't know about bittersweet, hypocritical, being what Spike wanted, or whatnot, but I thought the ending was completely appropriate, though sad ( ... )
