*Figure out how to make the layout not suck.
*Work on learning nuanced of LJ, including how to hide a chunk of the post in peoples' inboxes and posting arts.

You can also make custom emoticons and use them through the moods thing that's at the bottom of each post. You may need to "upgrade" to a Plus account, which is free to do.

yeah...I'm still trying to figure out all the stuff you can do here...It takes a fair bit of time actually to figure out the make the page pretty part, but the hiding stuff is called lj-cut and all done with html coding stuff, so if you're comf with that, it's no prob. Also there's a rich text mode that makes formating all the easier if that's what you're into.

Was LJ very different when you first opened your account?

It was a lot more straightforward when I first opened my account IIRC. I mean... like the basic page, with no frills. That was LJ.

I'm comfortable with HTML, I just need to find out what the specific tags are for lj-cut. As for my user pic... it's an old one without a broken link. ^^; I'm just using it for now until I've got everything set up the way I want it. Which may take a while, seeing as how I just got a new book, and I am SO not the only person who uses the computer at home, and I've got so many projects I'm working on, etc, etc.
