Proud To Be White
Someone finally said it.
How many are actually paying attention to this?

There are African Americans,
Mexican Americans,
Asian Americans,
Arab Americans,
Native Americans, etc.
.....And then there are just -
Americans.

You pass me on the street
and sneer in my direction.
You Call me 'White boy,'
'Cracker,' 'Honkey,'
'

As a member of the White majority in America (and a man to boot), I'm pretty much at the top of the social heap. Not by choice but by the very fact that white men have run this country since its inception and before. (But I'm hoping Obama will change that.) I don't have a problem with minorities expressing pride in their "race," because they've suffered oppression at the hands of people like me for centuries in this country. And I don't need "white pride" to tell me I'm OK. But if it makes you feel better, then more power to you. Now that I think about it, I have pride in my race, too. It's called the Human Race.
