A recap of all my poetry, for those who weren't here last year when I crossed over to the poetry account: :)

There is so much on there, but I definitely encourage you to muddle through the pages. Who knows - one man's trash may be another's treasure. GO FO' IT, YO'!

~In other news, I've been accepted. Again ( Read more... )

Double-degree programs are cool, but there's definitely a tradeoff. It depends mostly on what you want to do after college. If you really just want to be a musician/scientist/whatever it may be that you've decided, then there's no reason to add another year to double. I don't know where you're leaning right now. If you aren't sure yourself, though, it might be in your best interest to keep your options open by going for the double-degree program. As for Yale, I'm assuming that's your top choice if you get in. What I'd do is just wait until the last day to respond to Michigan, so that you can change your mind if Yale sends you something. And if you get accepted to Yale from the waiting list after that date, (obviously less than ideal) you can still back out from Michigan. You just lose your deposit... On a totally unrelated note, though, we haven't talked in ages. How are you?

Beckster, regarding the double degree dilemna and five years:

At my school (Lawrence) this is EXTREMELY common. I have many friends who are BM/BA majors and are here for five years (longer if one those degrees is education). You probably won't actually know if you want to really pursue both degrees and be in college for five years until after you've already STARTED college. It may be something you decide really early on; you may not figure it out until the end of your junior year. Either way, you're not gonna know for awhile, so see how freshman year goes doing both, and enjoy!

Also, let me know who your voice teacher is! My former voice teacher at Lawrence, Rico Serbo, is now on the voice faculty at UMich. :-)
