Rereading old entries, I find an AU meme I never got around to finishing... from 2010. And some of the AU prompts intrigue me, and make me wish I'd written them or will write them.

Just. Five years, man. Should I even bother?

Why not? I'm currently finishing a WIP that I let rot for ... seven and a half years, I think, before picking it back up again? If you want to, then, do. :)

True! Also, I am glad you are picking up on your old WIPs. There's some hella cool stuff in there that makes me sad to see unfinished or never-followed-up-on. (I did a reading-spree through your AO3 last month or so.)

:) Glad you're still enjoying them. I have a bad habit of letting my longer WIPs drop when I start losing track of all the threads, particularly when there's a lot of canon to rewatch if I want to refresh myself on it; I decided last year to go back to the beginning and continue as I mean to go on.

Alas, my oldest WIPs also happens to be the longest and most difficult. It was sitting at 20/34 chapters and north of 40k words, left untouched since 2006, with the outline all roughed out and no hope of shortening it without ruining the setup. Today, it stands at 28/34 and 68k words. Once it's done, I'll pick another. (And hopefully push forward a few more of my shortfic series to clean the palate in the meanwhile.)

Time for a flow chart!

[Don't write them!] --- No --- [Will writing them make me happy] --- Yes --- [Write them!]

Yay, flow chart! And yeah, I think writing them will make me happy. And let me avoid finishing PbOM. No, Becky. Not that part.
