I've heard that about regular yoga, but ANY kind of inversion at all seems to induce near-puking, so I don't think its going to work for me. Also, the teacher I've been taking prenatal with here is super anti-regular yoga in pregnancy, so that's probably influencing me.

On the up side, we took a gigantic crazy hike yesterday that I'd probably balk at when NOT pregnant,a nd it was awesome and super-fun and felt really good, so I'll probably stick with that.

P.S. Another thing that worked for me was getting up and working out before going to work. At first it was hard but your body adjusts as long as you get to bed early enough and then you can come home at the end of the and flop on the couch without feeling the least bit guilty!!! I'm trying to get back to that this Spring.

Hey and congratulations!

I know that pre-natal yoga feels a bit low key compared to the yoga you're used to but there is a reason for that - you are growing a human!!! :D

Having said that most women who have practiced yoga before pregnancy can carry on once they have reached the 12 week mark as long as they miss out closed twists (open twists are fine) and inversions (although down dog is fine for as long as you can manage it).

But if you are having lots of walks then you really do only need a gentle practice with lots of focus on breath... you're gonna need that breathing practice for labour :)

Good luck!
