Valentine's day. bah.

Feb 13, 2010 19:54

... It seems everyone is gearing up for another worthless holiday. How incredibly droll for people to think they understand love, or even have it for themselves. There are more productive things to do than to wax poetically upon the merits of something that does not even exist.

Bah...

angry, doom knows everything, bitter, perhaps lovelorn

Ain't a worthless holiday.

...this is the one where y'chase things down and bite them 'till they give you candy, yes?

I generally think that the candy is given willingly in a gesture of "affection".

Why y'usin' "scare quotes"?

Could probably hand it over in a gesture of "anger" if it was rock-candy, or jus' plain rocks, and you tossed them at the git.

There is no real affection among most people, simply worthless expressions of their own foolish biology.

I can do far worse than throw rocks.

Yes, a day dedicated to the foolish emotion of "love" of two people falling hand in hand and the sky simply lights up to them. Incredibly foolish.

If you want something from me, speak before I'm angered.

Only this: That if there's one thing I learned beyond doubting in this mad city, it's that love is as real as death.

Death is unfortunately only a passing fancy it seems.
