[CON] Yellow Gold Tour 3011 @ Kobe World Memorial Hall, 16/02/2011 19:00

This isn't a con report so much as a couple of notes I can look back on later to remind myself of specific things, because I didn't actually use my notebook at all - at least, not after Magnitude. To borrow from A Page - I'm out.

sweetpaopuwind and I met up with nyanto near the venue, where we'd been trying our best to avoid all the shady-looking men wanting to sell us tickets. It's quite ridiculous, really. On the one hand you've got the food stalls setting up, and the guys with the paparazzi pics, and on the other you've got the scalpers. The whole business is insane.

After some CD/DVD ordering (not by me, as I don't have a Japanese address and the other two do), staring at the goods and arranging where to meet afterwards, we went our separate ways for the show.

Tori and I were in the stands, in D Block, and four rows from the back. This isn't as bad as it sounds because the hall's not that big. We were over the stairs, so we had a barrier in front of us (no people to annoy, thankfully), and Tori was on the aisle which meant she had room to dance to her heart's content. (And dance she did! I was extremely impressed. There was just as much action next to me as on the stage; I just wish all the people around us would've done the same thing.) We were to the left of the stage, could see the entire thing fine, including all the screens. No Pink Floyd tonight but the DJ threw Jason Derulo into the mix. Coincidence? I think not.

Don't ask me why, this late in the tour, but they changed the intro video! The bit where Sky Hoffman is totally embarrassing Jin by complimenting him (the bit that makes the audience all melt) has disappeared, and instead we had a clip - set to an instrumental version of Magnitude - which was basically the shoots for the photosets, with the yellow hoodie and stuff. Also the grey suit.

After the Test Drive recording bit, it changed to a more piano-intensive version of Yellow Gold with Jin dancing around to it in that checkered hoodie. I know we've seen the footage before because I'm sure there was a fan project that parodied it. We also got to see some footage from the Farewell shows last October before it went back to the usual Oowah in NYC.

The only note I took after this was for Magnitude, where there was a whole raft of fireworks going off before the last "Magnitude: JIN" (rather than just after it).

At this point I decided I'd rather not risk losing my pen over the balcony, and I was rather more interested in dancing anyway, so the rest of this is from memory.

Jin screwed up during Murasaki and apologised with a cute little "gomen nasai".

For the dancers' intro, Juice tried to get us to make some noise by saying that the louder we were, the better they'd all perform.

Josh showed up for Hey Girl wearing full length jeans this time but otherwise the same as in Tokyo. More air guitar for the solo, and I vaguely recall him trying to slap Jin's rear as they were walking round the edge of the stage. I can't remember if it was here or later where he and Jin were trying out some simple dance moves together. Jin as dance coach? It's pretty obvious it's not Josh's line of work.

And of course he was there for Tipsy Love too. I think this time Jin paused before the final line of the intro, then did a complicated "ye-oh". He applauded us when we managed to copy it. The poor guy then had to put up with an attempt on his collarbones by Josh during the intros. I never get tired of watching Jin squirm and run away. :-)

In addition to the usual spiel at the end after Eternal, Jin also mentioned about his upcoming MS performance.

I'm probably not going to take my notebook with me for the last show. I have no clue where I'm sitting and won't find out until an hour beforehand, but I intend to sing and dance and have an amazing time without a pen in my hand. I'm very sad that this tour is coming to an end. :-(
