I'm glad to know it wasn't cancer, Vicki. How stressful, though.

Have a very Merry Christmas!

I'm glad to hear things turned out all right - but what a lot to go through! I hope your New Year is much happier!

It's been a pretty tough year. I hope the New Year is better too, I hope that for all of us even if your last one was good.

The radiologists said it hadn't developed into a lump yet so even if it was cancer it wasn't at the spreading stage. I really didn't know that. They indicated that once the lump was there that was when it metastasizes. I think that is scary. But the atypical cells could develop into cancer at any time or never. I guess an aggressive cancer could develop a lump within a year if you happened to be unfortunate enough to begin to get it right after your mammogram. My SIL's doctor only recommended mammograms every 2 years and she is now the one with stage 4 cancer.

Thanks. This was the first time I had a digital mammogram and they only got a picture of part of the area with the first mammogram so I had to have another one. Lucky huh? Might not have caught it with the old type of mammogram. The radiologist told me that 80% of women who came down with breast cancer had no family history of the disease.
