Sooo, in between classes and figuring out where to find jobs and making my Bridget cosplay, I found the time to take some pictures of my dorm room~<3
To the right of our door, coming from inside, is another room and a window!
To the left is a whole bunch of other rooms and the stairs. Which we. You know. Use to get places. Like... outside.
Our door~!
It looks so ominous like that! But yeah, we live in 229. It's pretty sweet, I must say.
This is what I've scribbled on our whiteboard for now- during the weekend it usually gets more use, as Min and I actually do whatever the hell we do.
Our dorm room! The right side is Min's, as evidenced by her.... being there. The left is mine, obviously.
Some of my crap on the floor near my desk. Some of it's a sewing pattern (the one for Bridget's costume, actually), some of it's fabric, some of it's a bio textbook, and some of it's my bag. Yeah.
What the top of my desk looks like right now. It's extremely messy since today's my slow day (only one class!), and I've been using it to mod a pattern. Boo.
THIS IS WHAT THE TOP OF MY DESK LOOKS LIKE. YOU WILL EVENTUALLY SEE THE WHOLE THING BUT YES. INTEGRA IS THE TOP FIGURINE. DID YOU EXPECT ANYTHING ELSE REALLY?
You can't really read this at all, but you can see the sign for our dorm from our window- Coolidge Hall! We rock. Just sayin'.
You can also see a lot of trees from our window. UVM wasn't joking anybody about this: the campus is amazing. It's lovely, beautiful, and any other adjective you can think of. There's this really expansive view of the mountains right when you're coming down the path towards campus. It's all mountains and sky, and you can see forever. It's especially amazing when storms are coming to us from that direction- you can see the shadows of the clouds rippling over the mountains and you get the scope of the view and you just.... I'll get a picture.
Another view from our window, which I imagine will be fun in the winter when the snow comes. I like seeing snow on branches for some reason ~3~
It's my roomie, Min! She dyed her hair blue a couple days ago, when it used to be red. The top of her head has this funny purple thing going that's great fun to tease her about.
We both have lofted beds, which- for those of you not in the know- are actually bunk beds without the bottom bunk. This is Min's. It's kind of messy, but then again, both sides are. I think it's just an automatic result of living in a dorm?
Min's bed, viewed from the floor. For some obscure reason, she has a picture of shrubbery above it. I mean, it's a nice picture, but I... guess I'm just not so attached to shrubs?
Her desk! (For the record, I was zipping all around the room this whole time and she was, perhaps wisely, ignoring me. We're actually getting along really well<3, which is a relief. We're good at giving each other space, I guess?) It is waaaaay messier than mine, but that's because she has the fish tank on her desk instead of storage space. We're going to put the girls in soon~<3333
Under my loft, there are many things: laundry, a skateboard, my books, a sewing machine, shoes... To be honest, I am sometimes amazed that it all fits. I'm planning on getting a rug to put under there, just to make it a little more... hospitable. The stuff you see creeping over towards my bed is Min's- it was laundry time!
This is my bed! With.... a Hellsing wall scroll hanging down from the springs. Yeah. I'm cool like that. The beams on the underareas of our beds are, almost universally, used as drying racks, as you can see here.
But NESSY! you might be saying, how on earth do you get up to your bed? The answer is these things. Just climb on up! But they're kind of slipperyish. My bed has a narrowed range of beams because of the way my dresser is against it, which made getting to bed slightly exciting for the first week or so, until I got used to it.
The promised fullview of my desk. I.... really don't have an explanation aside from... yeah.
Since we obviously don't have a lot of room, the television and PS2 went on top of my dresser, which means....
That I have a nice view when I'm in my bed!
Speaking of beds, this is mine! It's nice and warm and cuddly~<3
This is the sacred food crate, where we keep all our popcorn, crackers, and so on. It rocks.
I don't know why I took a picture of our recycle bin, but it seems like a good picture to put at the end of the post.
SO THAT IS MY DORM ROOM.
I'm thinking next up: LAUNDRY ROOM! .....just kidding.
