Genetic Predisposition Alert

May 13, 2008 19:02

I have pernicious anemia. I don't have the right chemicals in my stomach to digest vitamin B12. It is hereditary and some of the symptoms include depression and in extreme cases, dementia. A blood test can tell you if you have it and then you have to get B12 injections once a month forever. Not fun but it beats having the symptoms.

That is very strange since last year I got the same diagnosis. But my GP said I could do pills instead of the shots. Steph
