Fox Redux

The fox I wrote about in a poem in a recent entry, showed up on my street (about a mile from the location of the initial sighting.) She was trotting down the street with a large mouse, huge mole, or some other small animal in her mouth. I turned out of the driveway and drove slowly in her direction. This image pleases me. Though I wonder how you determined it was the same fox. I'm now picturing her with large gold hoop earrings on her pointy ears and a gold nameplate necklace on her little scruffy neck.

Mostly it was the attitude: "don't even start to think I might be afraid of you," and all business, troting along with lunch in her mouth. This is a heavily residential neighborhood, manicured lawns and mulched flowerbeds. Even if I didn't sense it was the same fox, it would be unlikely I would see two different ones in the same vicinity.

LOL. You're not helping! The idea of an urban/hip-hop fox in such a suburban setting is perfect. I'm thinking I should suggest this to Pixar!

Don't get me wrong though, I don't doubt that it was the same one. I think you can definitely distinguish animals by their personalities, plus the small subtle clues the subconscious picks up on like size, coloring, etc.
