In anticipation of the Magnetic Fields coming back to Austin, I am making a super mix of all things Stephin Merritt.

It is, of course, a fun yet daunting endeavor.

Matte.

(any non-69 suggestions?)

What I've been bothering with lately to get "mooded up" for the Dallas gig:

Magnetic Fields
Wayward Bus / Distant Plastic Trees: Candy, Summer Lies, Josephine
Holday: All of it actually.
The Charm of The Highway Strip: I Have The Moon, Born On A Train, Crowd Of Drifters (find the one with Susan Anway on vocals)
Get Lost: Skip the first track, it's the Joyriders of this album.
House of Tomorrow: All of it actually.

Some B-Sides are worth it: Rats In The Garbage Of The Western World, When I'm Not Looking You're Not There, etc
The cover of "Heroes" is a treat.

Other Side-Project-y goodness:

6ths
Yet Another Girl, Rot In The Sun, (With Lloyd Cole) Human (Human League Cover), The Man Amplifier (Young Marble Giants Cover)

Future Bible Heroes
Losing Your Affection, Hopeless, Kiss Me Only With Your Eyes, Good Thing I Don't Have Any Feelings

Stephin Merritt
Sounds Expensive, The Ugly Little Duck, The World Is Not Made Of Flowers, Behold The Lowly Centipede.

Gothic Archies
The Tiny Goat, The Dead Only Quickly
