My ass and back are going to love me cause we finally have real chairs!
Here they go in our *very* empty living room.
BTW, you can also see the lovely shades my father hung and the newly painted walls. The shades are top down bottom up so we can make them fold down like they are in that photo or we can roll them up like common shades. I'm so digging this feature! The wall color is a bit more blue and not as grey as I had wanted but for the most part I'm happy with it.
The cushions are charcoal grey and the wood is a deep espresso.
I ordered some artwork for the bathroom this week. I just hope I love it. I saw this limited edition print about 1 year ago and have been holding on to the magazine photo. Then I went to buy it and it was sold out everywhere. I have been SO sad about this. Well, lo and behold the last 50 images just went on the market. I hadn't realized that the first 50 images were being held back but who cares - I got my fucking print. Downside is, they were only selling the last prints in a serious so I had to get all 4 images when all I wanted was one but whatever.
And it seems our bedroom is turning into a girly-girl space, which was never my intentions. Back in my days when I worked in a gallery I purchased several pieces that had been stowed away at my parents house. They brought them last weekend and thankfully I still like everything I got BUT none of it works with our "vision." The only place they seem to fit are in the bedroom. So we will have nude and semi-nude white woman plastered on our bedroom walls. Fred's a bit annoyed that the ladies are white but he'll just have to get over it. I mean, how was I suppose to know that I was going to marry a black man? :snicker:
Do you think this piece works above the bed? I hate when people hang small pieces above the bed and initially I thought this would be too small but I think it works. I should have included the ceiling in the photo but there isn't much space between the ceiling and where the image would hang so I think it's doable. It seems long enough, right? That's my other concern that width wise it stands up to the bed and doesn't get swallowed.
