me all over the place

New York ladies… Where can I take my wedding/engagement ring to be polished? My bands could use some serious buffing. Years ago I saw one of those 20/20 news specials where jewelers switched stones so now I have a major phobia of this happening to me. When I was in Ohio I was speaking with a jeweler and he mentioned that if I polish the band I also ( Read more... )

Hope you had a nice weekend!

The cost of handbags has gotten pretty insane. I recently read an article on this somewhere (think it was WWD) and they mentioned the average price of a nice handbag was something like $400.

Looks like Gucci is paying tribute to the Giants with the Blue/Red stripes on white bag. Not a Fan at all.

No idea where you can take your ring for a polish but like you, I'm afraid to leave my ring(s) with anyone in this crazy city for fear they'll swap my stone.

I had my preganancy photos taken by Jordan Elyse and I know she does Kids/Families. The other photographer I recently used is Bentley Waters. She offers Mini Photo Sessions for a pretty decent price. They both have websites so you can view their work/info online.

There is something insane about having to spend $400 on a “nice” handbag. Perhaps that explains why have so few these days. In college I use to have several designer bags and that was on a students income. Now I have one. At least I wasn’t just being delusional about prices going up.

I’m a big scardy cat over stone swapping. Landro mentioned someone that I might look into.

Just have a minute to post, but wanted to recommend a jeweler for your rings.

Ben Moses
15 W 47th St # 3

To make a long story short, my great-grandfather was a diamond cutter in Austria. When he immigrated to the US, he smuggled several diamonds in with him - and they remain in my family to this day in various settings (like my mother's 3.5 carat engagement ring - GORGEOUS!). The only person my family feels comfortable taking the jewelry to is Ben and his son Ron, and they've been doing so for decades. They even reset the stones from my grandmother's eternity band into a wedding band for me.

Anyway, they are very trustworthy, though Ben may talk your ear off! ;)

Thanks! You are a total saint and I think I'll look into this person. Do they know your family name? Like perhaps I shoulds say... "I've been sent here by the fabulous X family."

They should know our family name - drop away (do you remember it?)!

Nope, I'm clueless about your last name. Can you email it to me? I am going to make it a point to get my rings taken in this week.

My email is r.burtz AT gmail.com

I loved the green one in person. Makes me think of Charlotte from Sex in the City. Very innocent yet flirty. Who know a purse could say so much.

Ugh - I was just at Macys over the weekend and wandered into the Coach section to drool. I *love* the first and second bags you posted. The first, beause I love green and the second, because I'm a fool for bucket style bags and the logo. It just seems lame for me to spend that kind of $ on a purse when my daily attire is shorts, tanks and flip flops. ;) You have to let me know which one you splurge on!

Do you have a video on your camera? If so, you need to film Graycen laughing (there is nothing sweeter than hearing a baby giggle) and then upload it so that we can see! Please! :D

Hey my fellow purse lover. I also love the look of bucket style purses but I had a Coach one that drove me insane. I could never find my keys. Everyday I would go home and stand in front of our apartment building digging.. and digging… and digging for my damn keys. In that moment I hated my purse and it was daily. I finally gave the purse to my mom who doesn’t seem to mind losing her things to “the bottomless pit.” I’m tempted to give it a try again but I would kick myself if I spent that money and ended up hating my purse again.

I have actually taken a lot of video of Graycen but I can’t seem to figure out getting it online. I tried that Drop Shots but it doesn’t work. I must have installed the program wrong and I can’t fix it. Even so my footage isn’t the best. Apparently Graycen has a VERY short attention span, he gets distracted easily and as soon as he sees my camcorder or camera in front of him he stops doing whatever cute thing he was doing and begins staring at my electronic item as if he was a deer caught in headlights.

LOVE that Graycen is smiling and laughing so much...Connor is getting into the smiling and stuff now...Quinton is my strong, silent type...I know that he can smile, he's done it on occasion, but he doesn't do it often...LOL!

Food...I'm SO with you there on the love of the sweet stuff right now and the belly to show for it...I want to be thin again, but I'm just not ready to let go of the sweet stuff...and I don't have anything sweet in my house right now that I can nibble on...eek!

There is hope for Quinton. Graycen started out giving very few smiles but now he does it ALL the time. Just last week he started to be bashful so now he smiles and then turns his head or digs it into the chest of whomever is holding him.

That is so cute!!! I can't wait to have that sort of interaction with the two boys...and keep the pictures of Graycen coming, what a sweetie pie! He's going to be a real heartbreaker when he grows up...such a handsome boy!
