Clearly I have given this a lot of thought and I don't know what her problem is. Right now I'm leaning towards her dislike to have people younger then her (and dare we say her own child) tell her what she can and can't do. Fred would have given in a long time ago... I'm not her brainwashed child and have no intention of giving in.

I swear we have the same MIL (except, hey, DH is Polish..what is wrong with Polocks??). Mail the letter - there is nothing better than being passive aggressive with a lunatic.

And you guys make such an adorable family.

You better believe that the letter has been mailed.

MIL was saying some over the top crap about a Polish boy who couldn't speak English and how his mother was a bad mom. And then she does this thing where she says stuff like 'Those people....' See why I hate her.

I think her whole point was trying to say how dare we attempt to teach our son Spanish because he'll end up never knowing English... because you know people can ONLY speak one language. MIL is black and whenever she speaks about any other nationality she gets snide, rude and makes these over the top claims. I'm Hispanic and she has even said rude things about Hispanics to me.

After she made her lucid comment I turned to my son and started speaking Spanish. :)

I just got myself caught up on your insane MIL drama and I just wanted to say GO YOU!! for writing the letter and standing up for yourself (and your son). I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with this utter bullshit, when you already have enough on your plate.

And Graycen just gets cuter every time I see pictures. You three are a beautiful family, that's for sure!

Maybe I'm a loony but I think the issues with MIL and DS name will come to an end soon. I'm hoping that once she sees that I'm boing to be vocal about the situation as well she come to her senses. Part of me thinks she doesn't know Fred and I communicate and that I'm in the dark to all this. She really only does all this alternate name calling with him.
